# Aim for Excellence, not Perfection

🎯Do you want to level up your skills faster? Stop aiming for perfection, and try focusing on excellence.

I only recently learned the difference between excellence and perfection. While they may sound similar, the steps to achieving them are super different. 🔍

Perfection is about obsessing over every detail.

You doubt yourself along the way and feel immense pressure to achieve an unattainable standard. 🤯 Ultimately, it often leads to giving up.

💪 In contrast, excellence is about focusing on what matters, learning from your mistakes, practicing diligently, and repeating the process until you achieve mastery.

“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” \~ Bruce Lee

It's not just about doing more reps. 🏋️‍♀️

We have to prioritize the right repetitions, focus on the meta-skill of self-assessment and also seek out expert feedback. Most importantly, we need the grit and commitment to keep practicing even when we make mistakes along the way.

So, if you're looking to improve your skills and increase your velocity of skill development, 🔥remember that excellence, not perfection, is the key.

Focus on the right repetitions, learn from your mistakes, and keep practicing.

And don't forget to celebrate your progress along the way! 🎉
