1. Have a Plan

(1/5) The first real life lesson I learned after graduating from college is have a plan.
Failing to plan is planning to fail. The best way to amplify your agency and take control of your life is by laying down a roadmap.
And there's an added benefit. The more you hypothesize about what you want, the easier it is to say no when distractions inevitably pop up.
I spent a period of my life saying yes to every opportunity that surfaced and I learned from those experiences. But even then, I had enough clarity about my own priorities that I should've known how to say no.
So here are the three actions that most helped me strength my freedom of choice and shape my own destiny:
1οΈβ£ π§ Boosting My Self-Talk & Growth Mindset: Embracing the belief that I should grow and adapt every day has been a game-changer. It means finding a way or making one and being positive about it, regardless of the hurdles in my path. Each day, I remind myself that every problem has a solution and that my task is to find the right approach. This constructive optimistic self-talk has become a powerful tool in my problem-solving kit.
2οΈβ£ π Focusing on My Circle of Influence: I've realized that directing my mental energy towards things I can control makes a huge difference. It's not about ignoring other aspects but prioritizing where I can create the most impact.
3οΈβ£ π£οΈ Saying 'No' is a Full Sentence: Recognizing my priorities and having the courage to say 'no' when necessary has been liberating. It's an essential skill in maintaining my focus, preserving my energy, and aligning my actions with my vision.
I have a vision statement that encompasses my core values, passions, and the future I envision. It serves as my compass, guiding me towards my dreams and shaping my decisions and actions.
The power to shape your destiny is within you. Embrace your high agency, create a roadmap, and start navigating towards your dreams. ππ«
